Enjoying My Holiday Desserts?

Harriet asks:
Any tips for enjoying my desserts this holiday season? I know that they’re not always healthy or the best thing for my diet, but who can refuse a dessert during a holiday party? Would love to hear how others enjoy a dessert, but keep the damage to a minimum. Thanks.

Good point! It’s nearly impossible to refuse dessert during the holidays. Here are two of my quick ideas. Obviously, if you’re making the dessert, the key is to choose healthy ingredients when you are preparing desserts.

Also, in either case, when are enjoying the holiday dessert, try to enjoy it slowly by savoring each bite. Most important, take small bites. Take three bites and then put the dessert aside for a few minutes. If you do, you most likely you won’t come back to it.

Here’s a tip: Skip the whip cream. Whipped cream is a common holiday topping. Leaving it off your holiday desserts will significantly cut down on fat and calories.

I agree with offering to bring a desert, so you know it’s a healthy one. Also, if you keep in mind your portion size and choice of dinner items (like skipping or taking minimal mashed potatoes, you’ll be able to enjoy the deserts with fewer calories ahving built beforehand

What I have been doing as we make our rounds, I filling up on the veggies, and protien, skipping the starch, and then taking the smallest amount of Dessert.
And if there is more than 1 I want to try I take a tiny spoon of each.

Got something to say?
