With our company holiday party around the corner, and a host of holiday family gatherings coming up, I’m getting a bit concerned. I find it very difficult to control myself during these holiday events and I end up eating way too much. Any strategies on how to cope with these parties so I stay on track with my diet?

Great question, since we all face this problem. Here’s something I do which may help you: Eat before the party!
If you arrive at a party starving, everything will look and smell delicious, leaving you vulnerable to making unhealthy choices. But if you eat a healthy meal or snack beforehand, you’ll be able to make better decisions about what you eat at the party. Have fun!
I have found that you have to mentally prepare and realize how many minutes you will have to run on a treadmill or climp an eliptical to burn off those calories. I also bring my own dish that I know won’t blow my diet and snack on that. Remember..a moment on your lips, forever on your hips
