Low Calorie Alcohol Free Drinks?

Hi Glenny’s Fans,

cocktail.pngWith spring upon us and summer heat coming up, I’m already thinking about some sunny vacation spots. I love fruity drinks by the pool, but I know they’re loaded with calories. Do any of you have any ideas for lower calorie alcohol-free drinks to order by the pool that are still tasty and refreshing, but won’t break my diet?

Thanks.

Ann

Great question! Tropical drinks can be loaded with calories and sugar grams. Even daiquiris and margaritas can have hundreds of calories.

Personally, what I do is have different seltzer-based fruity combos. Get some club soda over ice and add just a splash of your favorite juice or juices — I like cranberry. Sometimes I’ll have seltzer with some grapefruit juice.

Here’s a great little recipe called Sunset Strip. Very refreshing.

    Ingredients
    —————-
    1/3 glass sparkling mineral water
    1/3 glass orange juice
    1/3 glass ginger ale
    Cherry
    Slice of orange
    Ice cubes

    Directions
    ————–
Pour the orange juice, ginger ale and mineral water into a glass. Decorate with cherry and orange slice fixed on a cocktail stick. Add ice

Can’t seem to keep a steady supply of the Caramel Soy Crisps in our area - is there a problem? I usually purchase them at Morton Williams in Hartsdale, NY. Also, I’ve never seen the Olive Oil variety . Are they a new product? The soy crisps, and now the chocolate brownies have become a regular part of our attempt to stay healthy and satisfied - so, Thanks!!

Got something to say?
